Welcome to the 2nd International Symposium on Ornamentals – to be hosted at Stellenbosch University, within the heart of the unique and diverse Cape Floral Kingdom during the spring of 4-7 September 2017. This symposium will be hosted by the Department of Horticultural Science (www.sun.ac.za/horticulture), Stellenbosch in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Quality in Chains (MQUIC 2017) and the 13th International Protea Symposium under the auspices of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and Cape Flora SA (www.capeflorasa.co.za).
The aim of the 2nd International Symposium on Ornamentals is to provide a platform to promote communication and collaboration by sharing knowledge and expertise between international scientists, students, consultants, extension agents, growers and stakeholders such as trade and consumer organizations, policy makers and other professionals to the benefit of the international floricultural industry and their clients. The close collaboration with MQUIC 2017 will provide delegates further access to presentations on the challenges and opportunities of other fresh horticultural commodities throughout the value chain. The Symposium Programme will include plenary sessions each day, with presentations by selected Keynote Speakers. Each plenary session will be followed by Oral and Poster sessions. Technical Tours will also be available.
